THE ONLY WAY TO DO GREAT WORK IS TO LOVE WHAT YOU DO - That’s exactly what I am doing! LOVING my job. I can’t believe I have already been working at 4C for seven months. Time passes by so quickly!
Since September 2017, around 10 young graduates have started at 4C. I think that I can speak for all of them when I say that the working environment here is incredible. Hard working combined with loooooots of fun. Nice colleagues who are always willing to help, lots of training, continuous learning possibilities, flexible working hours, … ( I could go on for hours I guess). And last but not least, we all really love the work we are doing.
So what does a Junior CRM-consultant at 4C do?
You start the challenging journey at 4C with a month of studying. I know, studying AGAIN after a couple of years of studying at University, but it’s interesting! Afterwards you do your Salesforce Admin Exam and you are (hopefully) certified. Then you are certified as a consultant and people can start asking you technical stuff related to Salesforce. So the real work can start.
My first project was at a health insurance company, who 4C had already been working with for quite a long time. I was put in a team with two other people and immediately felt like I was part of the team. It all started with the completion of some requested implementations. After a couple of days, I went to the office of the insurance company and gave training with my colleagues. We evaluated (together with the local team managers) the implementations and made some adjustments so that everything was perfect. A week later, we gave a training to the end users and went live. Going live is something you’ll hear often at 4C, it means we implemented the adjustments at the customer (or end user).
It felt great to receive positive comments afterwards. It makes you feel like you really did a great job and made the life of the customers easier. When this project ended, I was put on another project, with totally different requirements, other places, other teams, …. Here are three tips I discovered during my first seven months at 4C:
-
There really are no stupid questions. At the beginning of your career, you will notice that eventhough you studied for a month, you still have lots of questions. Sometimes I thought; ‘Maybe I should know that myself’, so didn’t dare to ask it to someone else. But all my collegues are really helpful and they were glad they could share some knowledge.
-
Be who you are and be aware of that. Once you start at 4C, you need to take a personality test which shows you your strenghts and weaknesses and how to interact with other personalities. We had a day of training in which we discovered how people with the opposite personality to you like to communicate. This really added value because in meetings or being with clients, you will meet people with other personalities. By following this training, you will feel more comfortable interacting with others.
- Be flexible, but don’t overdo it. Flexibility is key at 4C. Sometimes (because of a deadline, meetings, …) you will need to work extra hours. And the week after you can work from home on a specific day because your bol.com delivery will arrive. The truth: be flexible, but don’t say yes to everything. This will make you unhappy and stressed. 4C understands that. You need to find a balance between working hard and saying ‘no’ fast enough.
If you love to be around different people, are willing to work hard, have the motto ‘work hard, play hard’, are positive-minded and are interested in CRM, 4C is what you are looking for! If you have any questions, you can always contact us on LinkedIn and maybe we’ll see each other soon.
